In this event, four industry speakers share work, projects and experiences that have made a personal or professional impact on them or the wider community. The speakers reflect on their own careers in design and publishing and the changes they have seen in the industry.

Dr Anna Welch Speaker
Dr Anna Welch is a book historian, curator and librarian specialising in medieval and renaissance book culture and graphic arts. She has worked in Melbourne’s cultural collections since 2011, and has published widely on medieval manuscripts, early printed books, renaissance graphic arts, book history and the history of collections. Most recently, she held the Harold Wright and the Sarah & William Holmes Scholarships to study in the Prints & Drawings Collection at the British Museum (2020/2022-23), which has resulted in publications in the journals Print Quarterly and Word & Image.
Peter Long Speaker
Peter Long is a freelance graphic designer specialising in book design, a filmmaker and titles designer. He was formerly the Senior Designer at Black Inc. Books and the Art Director of The Monthly magazine. He wrote and directed the short film A Telephone Call for Genevieve Snow which won the Silver Lion at the 2000 Venice International Film Festival.
Jenna Hipgrave Speaker
Jenna Hipgrave is a designer who understands print and a printer who understands design. Co-founder and Creative Director at the Hungry Workshop, a design and letterpress printing studio based in Bulleke-bek / Brunswick East, she transforms paper into tangible objects, collaborating with creators, designers, makers and tinkerers. Jenna, and the exceptional team at the Hungry Workshop, foster a creative dialogue to reach a finished product that is true to the vision, pushes boundaries and minimises waste.
